Pave The Way 03:24
Everyone’s trying to save the world these days But no one wants to do a thing. If you’re gonna be the one to do more, You will have to pave the way. You can only take the step you’re taking. You can only take the step you’re taking. Everyone wants to be your best friend But no one’s trying to make your day. If you’re gonna be a good soul, You will have to give your love away. You can only take the step you’re taking. You can only take the step you’re taking. We can talk all you want, It won't change a thing. Actions speak louder than words, Haven't you heard? Everyone wants what they don’t have But no one wants to have to give. If you’re gonna last forever, You will have to die before you live. You can only take the step you’re taking. You can only take the step you’re taking. You can only take the step you’re taking. You can only take the step you’re taking.

Use It 04:19
Down…need a lift up. Stuck…need a way out. When you’re alone, And you need a friend. Can we come together? Can we make it better? When we trust each other, We can overcome. Use it… You better use it. You better use it, or you’re gonna lose it. Worn out and tired. Lost…need to be found. I close my eyes, It fades to grey. Can we come together? Can we make it better? When we trust each other, We can overcome. Use it… You better use it. You better use it, or you’re gonna lose it. All this time we spend Searchin’ for something we could never have. All this time we spend Livin’ like we were already dead. And now it’s too late to go back to the way things were. You say it’s over. Don’t look over your shoulder. When you can’t go on, We can overcome. If you use it… You better use it. You better use it, or you’re gonna lose it. All this time we spend Searchin’ for something we could never have. All this time we spend Livin’ like we were already dead. And now it’s too late to go back to the way things were.

Up To God 04:10
People, people I’ve got something to say We’re all worthy in our own way To be treated equal, yeah we deserve To live in peace, while we share this earth. So let me be, just worry about yourself And leave the rest up to God, He knows best what we’ve got. Who are we to judge what another does When often it’s ourselves that we can’t trust? I know we’re bound to disagree But there’s no point in letting it get between us. So let me be, just worry about yourself And leave the rest up to God, He knows best what we’ve got. So let’s take a step back and let this pass So we can move on, forget where we’ve gone. And leave the rest up to God. He knows best what we’ve got.

With You 03:46
It’s so easy to go astray, lose touch. In a hurry to get someplace, what’s your rush? I wish I could slow down and see your face again. I wish I knew how to find that space again. Ooh it’s get dark, won’t you show me the way. Ooh it’s get dark, won’t you show me the way. With you, I’m not alone and now I know My heart will always have a home. With you, I’m not alone. I know that I’m guilty of letting doubt, Cast a shadow can’t let it out. I wish I could open my eyes and see your light. I wish I could make myself feel alright. Ooh it’s get dark, won’t you show me the way. Ooh it’s get dark, won’t you show me the way. With you, I’m not alone and now I know My heart will always have a home. With you, I’m not alone. I get caught up in hopes and dreams And wondering when I’ll get to see My fate awaits and I can’t take it any longer. With you, I’m not alone and now I know My heart will always have a home. With you, I’m not alone.

Empty Room 04:15
Silence fills this empty room. No more thrills to consume. This mind’s been workin’ awful hard, Clock’s been tickin’ since the start. It won’t be easy to get yourself out of this. You better let somebody in but you won’t relent. You better let somebody in. Runnin’ and hidin’ and chasin’ the ride, You will miss the most high. Whenever you’re feeling low, You’ve got a friend in me you know. Winter blues, Sunday afternoons, Wishin’ the sun, would come out soon. People change, drift away, But that’s alright, cause I’m here to stay. It won’t be easy to get yourself out of this. You better let somebody in and I won’t pretend. You better let somebody in. Runnin’ and hidin’ and chasin’ the ride, You will miss the most high. Whenever you’re feeling low, You’ve got a friend in me you know. You’ve got a friend in me you know.

Back Then 03:54
We were young and innocent back then…back then. We thought what we had was always gonna last. Is it gonna last? But we were always meant to hold ourselves responsible. Now I’m holding on I’m not ready to let go. Oh how things change so quickly, I can hardly keep up. Oh how they move so fast, When I get stuck. There’s so much I don’t know, The questions I didn’t get to ask you. If you must go, then go in peace. I’ll never forget you. If you want I’ll always tell you what’s going on. What’s going on? But you have to promise you’ll be strong. Be strong. Cause we were only meant to stay a while and then move on. Still I’m holding on I’m not ready to let go. Oh how things change so quickly, I can hardly keep up. Oh how they move so fast, When I get stuck. There’s so much I don’t know, The questions I didn’t get to ask you. If you must go, then go in peace. I’ll never forget you… I’ll never forget you. Never, never, never. I’ll never forget you. I won’t.

Around the fire, the fire, I see a cloud of smoke. I reach up higher, up higher, But I end up so low. You’ve got to be open to feel love. you’ve got to give all you have to the Lord above. You can’t keep hiding, keep hiding, In these places you go. At the end you’ll be the one, The one with nothing left to show. You’ve got to be patient to know peace. you’ve got to grow your faith and pray from on your knees. If we don’t fill the well, it will run dry. We will go thirsty, no tears left to cry. People always want you to tell ‘em What they want to hear. But I’ve had enough of that, I want to talk for real. Is anybody listening now or do I have to scream and shout? Is anybody listening now or do I have to scream and shout? If we don’t fill the well, it will run dry. We will go thirsty, no tears left to cry. A light that shines can cast a shadow. When sight is blinded, the deep looks shallow. If we don’t fill the well, it will run dry. We will go thirsty, no tears left to cry. No tears left to cry, give me a reason to smile.

about

"You can only take the step you’re taking.” This simple line is the lyrical hook of the first track off Chris Assaad’s debut album, Glory Fire, and the mantra by which the singer-songwriter lives his life. With the spirit of living in the moment, staying true to oneself and bringing forth our greatest vision, Chris has arrived with a burst of life, leaving dust clouds in his tracks.
